eBay’s the place where you get more for the holidays: more savings, more gifts, more giving, more getting. So out came the 2021 holiday campaign, bursting with gadgets and gizmos and toys and sparkles, all sent to run on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook. The giving theme extended to a first-of-its-kind sweepstakes on Pinterest. eBay’s More the Merrier Gift Board containing over 80 Pins of the season’s hottest gifts, with a chance to win it all.

Hundreds of Color-Coordinated Assets

Over 200 candy colored assets were built across the entire campaign. My task was overseeing animation development, paid and organic social, display and the Pinterest sweepstakes. Brand guidelines from our campaign were created for all the eBay partner agencies to use across their marketing.

The First-of-its-Kind Holiday Wishlist Sweepstakes on Pinterest

eBay’s More the Merrier Gift Board was a Pin-to-Win sweepstakes that invited people to pin items and create their own Pinterest holiday boards. The more they pinned, the more chances they had to win! There were 82 gifts across 5 eBay categories featured from ebay.com. With holiday being the most popular search category on Pinterest, this made the perfect place to reach people who wanted to get more and gift more this holiday. Three lucky winners won everything on their board, a potential $50k grand prize.

The most exciting online personalities in fashion Wendy Nguyen, home decor Anita Yokota, and kid’s activities Damask Love were brought onboard to boost the sweepstakes on Instagram and Pinterest.

The Wrap

Each influencer surprised a grand prize winner on a zoom call. From this content, we created a wrap video to celebrate the three winners and the success of the sweepstakes. This video was shared on Instagram and Pinterest.
